Dr. Saad Saad: A Pediatric and General Surgeon who Spearheaded Palestinian Medical Missions

Dr. Saad Saad is known for the inventions that he patented which aims to provide safer and less painful surgery practices. The invention that he developed includes a catheter and an endoscopy technique that allows the patient to experience less discomfort. However, his inventions are still unknown to many doctors around the world, and he is doing his best to promote his creations. Dr. Saad Saad is also known for his medical missions in the Palestinian territories. He is a Palestinian himself, and he wanted to give medical attention to his people who are experiencing terrible conflict. He teamed up with a group of doctors practicing in the United States and visited Palestine as an act of goodwill.



Many people who are having health problems have been given medicines, and his team addressed health issues. He also used his knowledge in general and pediatric surgery to help those who are having physical difficulties that had to undergo an operation. Dr. Saad Saad has been recognized for his assistance to the Palestinians, and he owed the inspiration from his mentor, Dr. H. Biemann Othersen. He claimed that his mentor told him that as a doctor, he has to help those who need medical attention, and he also encouraged him to go back to his home country because people need immediate medical assistance.



Dr. Saad Saad was born from a family of refugees who escaped Palestine and settled in Kuwait. He was poised to become his family’s next engineer, but he had a change of heart when he was in high school. He realized that being a doctor is his passion, and he told his parents about his decision. They gave him their permission and supported him with his dreams of becoming a doctor. The young Saad Saad had to enroll himself at a local college to earn his pre-medical diploma and had to transfer to Cairo University in Egypt for his medical degree. His classmates described him as a hardworking student, and everything paid off when he was awarded as the second best in class. After studying in Egypt, he went to the United Kingdom to serve as an intern at a local hospital.
